Position Title: Pharmacy Technician Specialist

Position Overview:
The University of New Mexico is seeking a dedicated and meticulous Pharmacy Technician Specialist to join our Student Health & Counseling clinic (SHAC) team. This role is essential in supporting the pharmacy operations within our comprehensive health services facility.

About the Clinic:
Located centrally on campus, the SHAC provides a wide array of primary and mental health services, including laboratory, x-ray, pharmacy, physical therapy, massage, acupuncture, case management, and health promotion services. Our clinic is committed to delivering quality healthcare, including same-day appointments, travel medicine, immunizations, and sports medicine.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Pharmacy Technician Specialist, you will:
1. Provide technical and administrative support in daily pharmacy operations.
2. Assist in the dispensing of prescription medications and manage routine orders for over-the-counter products.
3. Offer direct customer service and resolve common issues for patients during prescription drop-off and pick-up.
4. Oversee billing, cash management, and financial tracking for pharmacy services.
5. Manage inventory and data operations to ensure efficient pharmacy functioning.

Conditions of Employment:
Successful candidates must complete a pre-employment physical examination and medical history review. Maintaining certification status is required. Compliance with the University’s influenza vaccination policy is mandatory for employees in patient care roles.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience in pharmacy operations.

Certification Requirements:
- National certification as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Licensed with the New Mexico Board of Pharmacy.

Preferred Qualifications:
Additional qualifications may enhance your application.

Work Environment:
This position is based on the main campus in Albuquerque, NM, and is classified as a full-time staff role.

Compensation:
The hourly wage for this position is $23.58, and it is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Educational benefits are also available through tuition remission and dependent education programs.
