We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician III to join our team at the University of New Mexico. As a Pharmacy Technician III, you will play a critical role in supporting our pharmacy operations and ensuring the highest level of patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist pharmacists in the preparation and distribution of medications, including filling routine prescription orders and prepackaging pharmaceuticals.
- Conduct audits and research to maintain the integrity of our programs and ensure accuracy in data entry.
- Manage inventory and order medications from wholesalers, ensuring timely delivery and storage.
- Coordinate medication-related issues for patients, providers, and clinic staff, including procuring medication for indigent patients.
- Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.
- Perform quality control checks and maintain records, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of software and hardware associated with automated dispensing systems.
- Provide training and orientation to new technicians and staff members.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting with special projects and events.
- High School or GED Equivalent
- Training in pharmacy technology or equivalent
- 2 years of directly related experience
- Certified Pharmacy Technician in NM within 60 days
This is a heavy work position, requiring exertion of 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people.
The working conditions include exposure to chemicals and biohazardous materials, requiring personal protective equipment.
