Key Responsibilities:

The Pharmaceutical Care Specialist enhances patient outcomes by delivering safe, effective, and economical pharmaceutical services. This includes medication dispensing, managing intravenous admixture programs, and providing essential drug information. The role operates under the guidance of the Pharmacy Director and/or Pharmacy Operations Manager, overseeing pharmacy technicians, students, and support personnel.

Qualifications:

Essential Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the relevant State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Compliance with additional state regulations, such as sterile compounding.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support/Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ALS/ACLS) certifications (BLS required within a specified timeframe of employment; ALS/ACLS required for emergency response situations).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in an inpatient hospital pharmacy setting.
