About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Radiological Controls Technician to join our team at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our nation's submarine and aircraft carrier Fleets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform radiological surveys in support of site operations
  • Oversee radiological work evolutions and respond to unexpected conditions
  • Uphold radiological standards during work performance and use resources efficiently
  • Work independently with effective decision-making abilities
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
  • Or high school diploma or equivalent and qualification as a Naval Nuclear Propulsion Operator (or commercial nuclear equivalent) and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Or associate's degree from an accredited college or university or Journeyman's papers or vocational certificate in a related field or successful completion of RCTQS
Preferred Skills
  • Previous experience as a Contamination Worker
  • Previous completion of Radiological Controls Technician Qualification School (RCTQS) and/or past qualification as an RCT within the NNPP Program
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Computer programs

Compensation

$55, $85,400.00 annually
