Key Responsibilities

A Rigger plays a crucial role in the assembly of products utilized globally across various manufacturing sectors. This position involves:

  • Fabricating and assembling a diverse range of lifting and rigging products, including slings (nylon, polyester), wire ropes, lifting devices, rigging hardware, sling protection solutions, hoists, synthetic ropes, and tie-down equipment.
  • Interpreting engineering specifications and customer requirements to ensure precise fabrication and assembly.
  • Conducting inspections of finished products to confirm adherence to specifications and quality standards.
  • Performing routine maintenance and repairs on fabrication equipment and tools.
  • Managing inventory levels of raw materials and finished products to ensure availability for orders.
  • Reviewing and interpreting drawings, blueprints, and capacity tables.
  • Understanding codes and specifications as outlined in order documentation.
  • Calculating wire rope cut lengths and identifying suitable equipment for producing various wire rope and chain assemblies.
  • Splicing wire rope and fabricating chain slings.
  • Operating industrial swaging machines, proof testing machines, and forklifts (training provided).
  • Attaching appropriate tags and labels to products.
  • Reporting any defective or substandard materials or products.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area, equipment, and tools while adhering to all safety guidelines.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in the fabrication and distribution of lifting and rigging equipment, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proficiency in fabricating various types of slings (nylon, polyester, wire rope), wire ropes, lifting devices, rigging hardware, sling protection solutions, hoists, synthetic ropes, and tie-down equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of materials used in lifting and rigging applications and their respective properties.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations pertaining to lifting and rigging equipment.
  • Ability to operate fabrication equipment and tools safely and effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a team environment.
