Accounting Manager Job Description

At Randstad, we are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing the company's month-end close processes, accounts payable, cash management, and financial statement analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Month-End Close & General Accounting: Lead the month-end financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
  • Accounts Payable & Cash Management: Serve as the escalation point for the AP team, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of transactions. Monitor the company's cash position through daily tracking of cash disbursements, receipts, and bank reporting.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. Collaborate with the Corporate Controller/CFO on the annual audit and preparation of financial statements, including footnotes.
  • Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve departmental efficiency through process redesign and automation. Implement best-in-class processes, ensuring departmental productivity and cost-effectiveness.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; MS and/or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience within consumer products manufacturing or distribution industry experience is required (multi-site location preferred), and food manufacturing industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with mid to large-scale accounting/ERP systems (e.g., Sage X3).
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, with the ability to develop, maintain, and analyze complex spreadsheets.
