Account Manager

Purvis Industries is a leading industrial distributor with a rich history of providing exceptional service to its customers.
As a key member of our team, the Account Manager will play a crucial role in growing sales and increasing company profits by cultivating current customers and recruiting new ones.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of meeting sales goals and growing sales, with a strong understanding of effective selling strategies and techniques.
Responsibilities will include identifying, contacting, and closing orders on potential and targeted customers, as well as increasing sales and average order size through cross-selling, up-selling, and offering promotional sales items.
The Account Manager will also be responsible for maintaining a professional appearance and attitude, while providing the best service in the industry to our customers.
Additional responsibilities will include participating with management in updating territory plans and setting sales goals, determining sales potential for new and existing customers, and preparing and conducting sales presentations of products to new and existing customers.
The Account Manager will also be responsible for determining customer requirements and expectations, recommending specific products, and increasing business and account base by finding and qualifying new business accounts.
Other responsibilities will include maintaining and improving customer relationships and satisfaction, learning and applying new product knowledge to enhance sales and personal professionalism, and assisting clients with special requests and problems.
The Account Manager will also be responsible for gathering competitive information and other market information regularly, negotiating and establishing pricing and terms according to company requirements, and preparing and presenting quotations.
Additionally, the Account Manager will be responsible for communicating to management unexpected increases or decreases in demand for products, assisting in scheduled physical inventory counts, monitoring customers' current credit status, and remaining current with changes in local codes and consumer preferences.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical and computer capability to effectively use contact management, distribution, and office software, as well as participate in trade association functions and be active in local industry organizations.
Requirements include a high school diploma (Bachelor's degree preferred), minimum 5 years in a similar position, and product/application experience strongly preferred.
