POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of the Room Attendant is to ensure that all areas of the hotel are meticulously cleaned and maintained, thereby significantly enhancing the overall guest experience through superior cleanliness standards.

This role involves reporting maintenance issues and addressing guest requests or concerns, while also safeguarding the confidentiality and security of all guest accommodations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Thoroughly clean and sanitize assigned guest rooms, including bathrooms. Responsibilities include dusting furniture, vacuuming carpets and rugs, making beds, changing linens, sweeping, mopping, and washing floors, as well as picking up debris and emptying trash bins. Spot cleaning of walls and doors as necessary is also required. Personal belongings of guests should be tidied as needed, and public areas should be cleaned as directed.
  • Restock towels and necessary supplies in guest rooms. Ensure that facial tissues, toilet paper, and bathroom amenities are replaced in the correct amounts and locations.
  • Utilize appropriate cleaning chemicals for designated surfaces, adhering to OSHA regulations and company safety and sanitation standards.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the proper maintenance and use of cleaning equipment, ensuring it is used solely for its intended purpose.
  • Keep the housekeeping cart and linen storage areas organized and safe.
  • Report any maintenance issues to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Accountable for the keys assigned to them.
  • Responsible for returning all lost and found items to the Housekeeping Office for logging.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety and sanitation protocols. Work safely when handling heavy loads or heavily soiled linens, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Report any accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to management.
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance in uniform.
  • Understand emergency procedures relevant to the Housekeeping department and the hotel as a whole.
  • May be required to work evenings, weekends, and/or overtime as needed.
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned at the discretion of management, and duties may be adjusted based on business volume and operational needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Desirable:
  • Fluency in English.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to accurately follow instructions.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Well-groomed and presentable appearance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as standing for extended periods (over 4 hours a day), walking (over 4 hours a day), and engaging in activities like stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, and twisting (over 4 hours a day).
  • Capability to carry or lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
