Position Overview:
The Life Sciences Research Professional will engage in essential research activities within a dynamic academic environment. This role is pivotal in supporting various research initiatives aimed at advancing medical diagnostics and therapeutic techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement experimental protocols in alignment with ongoing research projects.
  • Conduct experiments independently while meticulously documenting methodologies and results.
  • Utilize scientific principles to analyze experimental data and propose procedural enhancements in collaboration with senior researchers.
  • Stay updated with current literature to integrate new techniques into research practices.
  • Contribute to the dissemination of research findings through written documentation, including reports and presentations.
  • Assist in maintaining laboratory operations, including inventory management and safety compliance.
  • Support the training and orientation of new team members in laboratory techniques and protocols.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with histological techniques and immunohistochemistry.
  • Strong interest in precise tissue handling and sample preparation.
  • Proficiency in basic laboratory skills, including pipetting and dilutions.
  • Familiarity with molecular biology techniques such as PCR, sequencing, and protein analysis.
  • Hands-on experience in chemistry and nanoparticle functionalization.
  • Knowledge of microscopy techniques and cell culture practices.

Education and Experience:
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline is required.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Solid understanding of scientific methodologies and principles.
  • Proven ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical research challenges.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in record-keeping.
  • Competence in using various computer applications and databases relevant to scientific research.
  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform various physical tasks, including lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to work in environments with potential exposure to hazardous materials.

Working Conditions:
  • May involve working with biological samples and in settings where animals are utilized for research.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment is mandatory.
