The Section of Blood Research is seeking a full-time Research Specialist to engage in various research initiatives and independently conduct experiments in our laboratory.

The Research Specialist will be responsible for executing defined research projects, focusing on blood-related technologies and methodologies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing experimental approaches to support ongoing research projects based on a solid understanding of scientific principles.
  • Independently conducting experiments and maintaining comprehensive records of methodologies and outcomes.
  • Applying scientific theories to analyze experimental results and providing recommendations for procedural improvements in collaboration with the Principal Investigator.
  • Staying current with scientific literature to integrate new findings into ongoing research efforts.
  • Contributing to the publication of research findings and assisting in the preparation of written documents, including protocols, presentations, and grant proposals.
  • Supporting the training and orientation of new team members on laboratory procedures and techniques.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with image analysis software and data processing tools.
  • Proficiency in programming languages and the ability to develop scripts for data analysis.
  • Familiarity with medical datasets and statistical analysis relevant to health sciences.
  • Knowledge of artificial intelligence frameworks and their application in research.

Education & Experience:

A Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline is required.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of scientific methodologies and principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical problem-solving.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining research records.
  • Proficient in using computer applications and databases relevant to scientific research.
  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements:

The role may involve frequent standing, walking, and performing tasks that require fine motor skills. Candidates should be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds and work in various laboratory environments.
