Job Summary

This is a challenging role that requires a highly skilled and experienced professional to conduct research in complex technical or scientific fields. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading technical activities, providing guidance to junior staff, and communicating complex strategies and results to subject matter experts and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducts research in complex technical or scientific fields, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Leads technical activities, providing guidance to junior staff and ensuring that projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Communicates complex strategies and results to subject matter experts, program members, and advisors, adjusting communication content and format to meet the needs of the intended audience.
  • Works alongside EPRI sales staff in Member Services and EPRI International to support member/client needs, establishing relationships with primary advisors to a research area.
  • Provides high-level engineering efforts to support requirements in development and design, and provides input into configuration management and documentation for engineer-related projects.
  • Acts as a technical specialist for projects or project tasks, regularly communicating and coordinating work activities across programs and sectors.
  • May provide oversight of a project team to ensure technical and financial milestones are met, organizing external and interdepartmental activities to ensure completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.
  • Leads the planning and execution of complex project work within the technical department to meet member/client objectives, preparing and presenting research reports.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience required.
  • Established relationships with primary advisors to a research area.
  • Ability to lead research programs, manage medium-level projects, and influence project teams in the engineering aspects of the technical work.
  • Significant customer interface component, with ability to lead research programs and develop research or services opportunities of value to EPRI members.
  • Continues to provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
