We provide comprehensive solutions ranging from feasibility studies to complete engineering design services, including the preparation of as-built documentation.

We are currently seeking an AutoCAD Drafting Technician (Part-Time) to support our operations in the San Diego / California office. The selected candidate will work closely with the Engineering Manager and will receive guidance from senior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create and draft various drawings and maps for construction initiatives.
  • Drafting tasks will primarily focus on civil and electrical drawings for transmission, distribution, and substation projects.
  • Modify and create drawings based on engineer-provided annotations.
  • Produce redline markups and comments for work plans.
  • Ensure the quality and precision of all work produced.
  • Thrive in a dynamic environment with multiple competing priorities.
  • Collaborate effectively with other teams to deliver integrated services and support.
  • Prepare design packages, including plotting, printing, and submissions.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD Design (2D and 3D) is mandatory.
  • Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D, Autodesk Inventor, and/or ArcGIS software is advantageous.
  • A certification in Drafting/Design/CAD or progress towards a degree in a related field is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with AutoCAD 2016 or newer.
  • Understanding of drafting principles, techniques, and methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, along with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Experience with substations, transmission, civil engineering, or related projects is a plus.

The compensation for this position is approximately $25-$30 per hour, influenced by various factors such as relevant experience, skills, knowledge, credentials, and geographical location.
