We are currently seeking an AutoCAD Drafting Technician (Part-Time) to contribute to our operations. The successful candidate will report to the Engineering Manager and collaborate closely with senior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role include:

  • Utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) software to create and draft various drawings and maps for construction initiatives.
  • Drafting tasks will predominantly focus on civil and electrical drawings related to transmission, distribution, and substation projects.
  • Modifying and creating drawings based on engineer-provided annotations.
  • Producing work/plan redline markups and comments.
  • Ensuring the quality and precision of all work produced.
  • Thriving in a dynamic environment with multiple competing priorities.
  • Collaborating with other teams to deliver integrated services and support.
  • Preparing design packages, including plotting, printing, and submissions.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD Design (2D and 3D) is mandatory.
  • Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D, Autodesk Inventor, and/or ArcGIS software is advantageous.
  • A certification in Drafting/Design/CAD or active pursuit of a degree in a related field is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with AutoCAD 2016 or newer.
  • Understanding of drafting principles, techniques, and procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Experience with substations, transmission, civil engineering, or related projects is a plus.

The compensation for this position is competitive, with a base hourly rate ranging from $25 to $30, influenced by various factors such as relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and geographical location.
