Our mission is to deliver exceptional engineering services to both public and private utility companies, as well as consultants and contractors involved in the design and construction of power generation facilities, transmission lines, and substations throughout the United States and Canada. We provide comprehensive solutions ranging from feasibility studies to complete engineering design services, including the preparation of as-built documentation.

We are currently seeking an AutoCAD Drafting Technician (Part-Time) to support our operations in the San Diego / California office. The selected candidate will work closely with the Engineering Manager and senior engineers, contributing to various projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create and draft diverse drawings and maps for construction initiatives.
  • Focus on civil and electrical drafting for transmission, distribution, and substation projects.
  • Modify and produce drawings based on engineer-provided feedback.
  • Generate work/plan redline markups and comments.
  • Ensure the quality and precision of all work produced.
  • Thrive in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities.
  • Collaborate with other teams to deliver integrated services and support.
  • Prepare design packages, including plotting, printing, and submissions.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

  • Proficient in Autodesk AutoCAD Design (2D and 3D).
  • Familiarity with Autodesk Civil 3D, Autodesk Inventor, and/or ArcGIS software is advantageous.
  • Certification in Drafting/Design/CAD or pursuing a degree in a related field is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with AutoCAD 2016 or newer.
  • Understanding of drafting principles, techniques, and procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Experience with substations, transmission, civil engineering, or related projects is a plus.

The compensation for this position ranges from $25 to $30 per hour, influenced by various factors such as relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and geographical location.
