Our mission is to deliver engineering solutions to both public and private utility companies, as well as consultants and contractors involved in the design and construction of power generation facilities, transmission lines, and substations throughout the United States and Canada. We provide a comprehensive range of services, from feasibility studies to complete engineering design and project closeout, including the preparation of as-built documentation.

Position Overview

We are currently seeking an AutoCAD Drafting Technician (Part-Time) to contribute to our operations in a dynamic environment. The selected candidate will report to the Engineering Manager and collaborate closely with senior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create and draft various drawings and maps for construction initiatives.
  • Focus on civil and electrical drafting for transmission, distribution, and substation projects.
  • Modify and create drawings based on engineer-provided annotations.
  • Generate work/plan redline markups and provide constructive feedback.
  • Ensure the quality and precision of all produced work.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced setting with multiple priorities.
  • Collaborate with other teams to deliver integrated services and support.
  • Prepare design packages, including plotting, printing, and submission processes.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient in Autodesk AutoCAD (2D and 3D) is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with Autodesk Civil 3D, Autodesk Inventor, and/or ArcGIS software is advantageous.
  • Certification in Drafting/Design/CAD or pursuing a degree in a related discipline is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with AutoCAD 2016 or newer.
  • Understanding of drafting principles, techniques, and procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Experience with substations, transmission, civil engineering, or related projects is a plus.

Compensation

The anticipated hourly wage for this position ranges from $25 to $30, influenced by various factors such as relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and geographical considerations.
