Position Overview:

The objective of this role is to enhance field sales through improved brand visibility, comprehensive product knowledge, and effective sales training, while upholding policies and communication standards within the marketplace. The Southeast Region Sales Executive is tasked with building and nurturing robust relationships with personnel at National Retail Stores, ensuring a favorable customer experience across all facets of the interaction, including store visits, order management, inventory assessment, delivery expectations, and marketing support materials.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Maintains an updated list of prospective customer stores and develops a strategic sales call plan to maximize revenue.
  • Coordinates and oversees store activities within designated regions as necessary.
  • Collects pertinent market intelligence, competitor insights, and customer feedback, relaying this information to the appropriate National Account Manager.
  • Delivers exceptional support and service to enhance customer awareness regarding existing products, programs, sales initiatives, and new launches.
  • Proactively works to boost sales, improve inventory turnover, and ensure overall customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to mutual profitability and appreciation for customer business.
  • Actively listens to marketplace challenges, formalizes solutions, and escalates issues as needed.
  • Addresses customer issues promptly and effectively.
  • Supports local and regional events, providing sales and product training, and participates in national meetings as required.
  • Engages in industry trade shows, open houses, and marketing events to bolster retailer business.
  • Establishes an efficient follow-up system.

Market Development:

  • Develops and maintains the Dealer Locator program within the assigned area.
  • Conducts prospecting and analysis of trade areas.
  • Implements both short-term and long-term marketing strategies.
  • Identifies and qualifies potential influencers.
  • Creates compelling sales presentations.
  • Recommends promotional materials, sales aids, and services.
  • Distributes and positions point-of-purchase materials effectively.
  • Continuously enhances the Key Dealer program.
  • Collaborates strategically with Customer Sales Representatives to visit prospective accounts.

Sales Responsibilities:

  • Communicates effectively with stakeholders.
  • Identifies new business opportunities through prospecting.
  • Assesses and addresses customer needs.
  • Determines and suggests profitable sales strategies.
  • Maintains current product knowledge and competitive industry insights.
  • Advises on promotional requirements and new product recommendations.

Team Collaboration:

  • Contributes to the effectiveness of management by ensuring that all relevant information is communicated effectively.
  • Thinks creatively and maintains a broad perspective in decision-making.
  • Submits competitive insights regularly.
  • Actively participates in meetings and fulfills requests.
  • Maintains bi-weekly communication with field personnel.

Expense Management:

  • Utilizes cost-effective travel and entertainment practices in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Analyzes promotional and media needs.

Reporting and Planning:

  • Updates CRM with details from each store visit.
  • Ensures strong and efficient email communication.
  • Reports all activities, including competitive intelligence and market challenges.
  • Utilizes a monthly itinerary for planning purposes.
  • Maintains open communication with the Director and Account Manager.

Systems Management:

  • Administers corporate policies and procedures across financial, human resources, and legal domains.
  • Implements departmental policies and procedures.
  • Initiates and develops new or improved systems and procedures as required by the business.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM systems.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and a collaborative team player.
  • Skilled in route mapping and managing travel plans.
  • Willingness to travel extensively for customer, vendor, and business partner engagements.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit and stand intermittently, use a keyboard, climb stairs occasionally, and lift up to 25 pounds with or without accommodations.
