Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Managing Account Executive to join our Northfield Excess & Surplus (E&S) Brokerage team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a small team of Account Executives and driving the growth and profitability of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business
  • Underwrite and negotiate complex customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal and external partners to create sales plans and identify cross-selling opportunities
  • Foster and maintain relationships with wholesale brokers to market and sell Travelers products
  • Identify and capture new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 6-8 years of relevant underwriting experience with experience in E&S lines
  • Deep knowledge of E&S products and the local insurance market
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze information and make timely decisions
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate in difficult situations
