We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Insurance Underwriter Manager to join our team at Travelers Insurance. As a key member of our Northfield Excess & Surplus (E&S) Brokerage, you will be responsible for managing a small team of Account Executives and leading the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a team of Account Executives to achieve sales and revenue targets.
- Underwrite and negotiate complex customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal and external partners to drive sales and growth.
- Identify and capture new business opportunities through consultative marketing and sales skills.
- Develop and execute agency sales plans and partner with leaders to develop region/group sales plans.
- Exercise responsibility for coaching, training, and performance management of assigned team.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Six to eight years of relevant underwriting experience with experience in E&S lines.
- Deep knowledge of E&S products and the local insurance market.
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze information and make timely decisions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate in difficult situations.
- Experience leading others is a plus.
