About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Underwriter to join our team at The Hartford. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for analyzing and evaluating risk to ensure that our customers receive the right level of coverage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and evaluations to determine the level of risk associated with each customer
  • Develop and implement underwriting strategies to minimize risk and maximize profitability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that underwriting decisions are aligned with business objectives
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments to ensure that our underwriting practices are current and effective
  • Provide exceptional customer service to ensure that our customers receive the best possible experience
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field, such as business, finance, or risk management
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial underwriting, with a focus on risk management and business development
  • Proven track record of success in developing and implementing underwriting strategies that minimize risk and maximize profitability
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to travel within the region, with occasional travel by plane
