Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Acupuncturist to join our team at Marin Community Clinics. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, we provide comprehensive primary care, dental, behavioral, specialty, and referral services to our diverse patient population.

The successful candidate will work as part of an integrated care team to provide acupuncture services, treat pain, and educate patients on self-care activities. This is a part-time and/or full-time opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Provide medically necessary acupuncture services, consultations, and assessments as requested by family physicians and specialists.
  • Utilize acupuncture techniques to stimulate specific points on the body, prevent or modify pain perception, and normalize physiological functions.
  • Perform routine evaluations, management, and treatment services, including diagnostic techniques and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Western diagnostic methods.
  • Educate patients on therapeutic exercises, qi exercises, breathing techniques, meditation, and other self-care activities within the scope of practice.
  • Conduct dietary and nutritional counseling as needed, within the scope of practice.
  • Identify opportunities for improving patient care and make recommendations to the Chief Medical Officer, Site Medical Director(s), and Internal Quality Improvement Committee.
Requirements
  • Masters or post-baccalaureate certificate/diploma from an accredited school.
  • Current license to practice as an L.A.c issued by the California Board of Acupuncture.
  • Certification by the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology or Oriental Medicine is a plus.
  • Active and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate.
  • Experience working in a community health center and/or providing acupuncture in a community acupuncture model is desired.
  • Experience with Epic Electronic Health Records is a plus.
