Land Surveying Team Lead

The Survey Crew Leader will operate both autonomously and collaboratively with team members to perform field survey tasks related to boundary delineations, A L T A/ N S P S Land Title surveys, topographic assessments, photo control surveys, route evaluations, and construction stakeout under the oversight of a Registered Professional Surveyor.

Key Responsibilities:

Your role will involve ensuring the effective functioning of the field team by adhering to established operating procedures and current health and safety regulations. You will utilize robotic total stations and GPS technology to gather precise data and information efficiently. Responsibilities include driving stakes, documenting detailed notes and diagrams, and maintaining company equipment and survey vehicles.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:

Proficiency in using GPS devices, data collectors, and/or Total Stations is required. The position demands independent judgment and initiative. A solid understanding of land surveying principles, techniques, and practices is essential. Familiarity with computer-aided drafting tools and civil engineering principles, as well as construction specifications, plans, and regulations, is necessary. Knowledge of industry-specific safety protocols is also required. Candidates must be capable of operating motorized equipment and working outdoors under various environmental conditions. Physical requirements include the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and effectively use hands, tools, and controls. The ability to lift and/or move weights of 50-75 pounds is necessary. Strong organizational skills to manage office functions efficiently, prioritize tasks, and maintain positive interpersonal relations with staff and clients are essential. Local travel may be required within a 300-mile radius. A valid driver's license is mandatory.
Education and Experience:
A high school diploma is preferred, along with a minimum of 2 years of experience as a survey crew chief.
Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
