The Land Survey Crew Chief will operate both autonomously and collaboratively with team members to execute field survey tasks related to boundary delineations, A L T A/ N S P S Land Title surveys, topographic assessments, photo control surveys, route surveys, and construction stakeout under the supervision of a Registered Professional Surveyor.

Key Responsibilities:

Your role will encompass the effective management of the field crew in accordance with established operating procedures and prevailing health and safety regulations. You will utilize robotic total stations and GPS receivers to gather pertinent data and information accurately and efficiently. Responsibilities include driving stakes, maintaining meticulous notes and diagrams, and ensuring the upkeep of company equipment and survey vehicles.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:

Proficiency in the operation of GPS devices, data collectors, and/or Total Stations is required. The position demands independent judgment and initiative. A solid understanding of the principles, techniques, and practices of land surveying is essential. Familiarity with computer-aided drafting principles, civil engineering practices, and construction specifications, plans, and regulations is also necessary. Knowledge of industry-specific safe workplace practices is vital. The ability to operate motorized equipment and work outdoors under varying field conditions is expected. Candidates should be capable of standing, walking, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and effectively using hands, tools, and controls. Physical capability to lift and/or move up to 50-75 pounds is required. Efficient management of office functions, work organization, priority establishment, and maintaining positive interpersonal relations and communication with staff and clients are essential.
Education and Experience:
A high school diploma is preferred, along with a minimum of 2 years of experience as a survey crew chief.
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
