Job Overview

The Land Survey Crew Chief at Cash Waggner & Associates is tasked with overseeing both independent and collaborative field survey activities. This role encompasses various types of surveys including boundary, ALTA/NSPS Land Title, topographic, photo control, route, and construction stakeout, all conducted under the guidance of a Registered Professional Surveyor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the effective management of the field crew while adhering to established operational procedures and current health and safety regulations.
  • Utilize robotic total stations and GPS technology to gather precise data and information efficiently.
  • Perform tasks such as driving stakes, documenting detailed notes and diagrams, and maintaining the company's surveying equipment and vehicles.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proficient in operating GPS devices, data collectors, and Total Stations.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative in various situations.
  • Strong understanding of land surveying principles, techniques, and practices.
  • Familiarity with computer-aided drafting tools and civil engineering principles, as well as construction specifications and regulations.
  • Knowledge of safe workplace practices specific to the industry.
  • Capable of operating motorized equipment and working outdoors in diverse environmental conditions.
  • Physical capability to stand, walk, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and effectively use hands, tools, and controls.
  • Able to lift and/or move weights ranging from 50 to 75 pounds.
  • Efficient in managing office functions, organizing tasks, setting priorities, and maintaining positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Local travel may be required within a specified radius.
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • A high school diploma is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a survey crew chief is preferred.

Compensation:

Salary and hourly wages are commensurate with experience.
