The Survey Operations Chief will perform both autonomously and collaboratively with team members to execute field survey tasks related to boundary delineations, A L T A/ N S P S Land Title surveys, topographic assessments, photographic control surveys, route evaluations, and construction layout under the supervision of a Registered Professional Surveyor.

Key Responsibilities:

You will oversee the effective functioning of the field team by adhering to established operating procedures and current health and safety regulations. Your role will involve operating robotic total stations and GPS receivers to accurately gather pertinent data and information efficiently. Responsibilities include driving stakes, documenting detailed notes and diagrams, and maintaining company equipment and survey vehicles.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:

Proficient in utilizing GPS devices, data collectors, and/or Total Stations. The position requires independent decision-making and initiative. Familiarity with the principles, techniques, and practices of land surveying is essential. Understanding of computer-aided drafting principles, civil engineering fundamentals, and construction specifications, plans, and regulations is necessary. Knowledge of industry-specific safe workplace practices is also required. The ability to operate motorized equipment and work outdoors under varying field conditions is crucial. Candidates should be capable of standing, walking, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and effectively using hands, tools, and controls. The ability to lift and/or move weights ranging from 50 to 75 pounds is expected. Efficient management of office functions, organization of work, establishment of priorities, and maintenance of positive interpersonal relations and communication with staff and clients are important.
Education and Experience:
A high school diploma is preferred. A minimum of 2 years of experience as a survey crew chief is preferred.
Compensation will be based on experience.
