Primary Responsibilities:
The Quality Assurance Engineer plays a crucial role in enhancing quality through effective communication with both internal teams and external partners.
Key Duties:
- Maintain configuration control documentation through thorough contract reviews and blueprint/specification oversight.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Level II Quality Engineers to process waivers and concessions as necessary.
- Work alongside Engineering and Level II Quality Engineers to review and submit First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
- Engage in the investigation and resolution of customer complaints and returns.
- Communicate and document Corrective Actions as required for both customers and internal stakeholders.
- Review purchase orders related to customer items.
- Serve as the internal quality representative for both internal and external clients.
- Achieve certification for customer source inspections as needed, including completing training and certification for AS13001 and AS9117.
- Contribute to various continuous improvement initiatives.
- Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and basic network usage.
- Capable of uploading and downloading information from various customer portals.
- Effective communication skills for direct interactions (in-person, conference calls, group meetings) and indirect communication (e.g., email).
- Ability to write clear instructions for others to follow.
- Well-organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Positive attitude and a strong willingness to complete tasks.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and detailed customer specifications.
- Self-directed and able to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience in the castings industry and familiarity with ISO9001 or AS9100 is preferred but not mandatory.
- Engineering experience is advantageous.
Work Environment:
The work environment typically has a quiet to moderate noise level, although higher noise levels may be encountered in manufacturing areas. Employees may also be exposed to moving mechanical parts and machinery in these areas.
