Job Description

As a Technical Sales Specialist at ZL Chemicals LTD, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Sales team's efforts to grow and defend market share from a product application and technical perspective.

Key responsibilities include attending client meetings, presenting to clients on our portfolio, identifying technical solutions, and providing product or application training internally.

You will establish and maintain business relationships with current customers and prospective customers to generate new business for the organization's products and services.

Additionally, you will work closely with the Sales team to support the launch of new products and services into the market at all phases, from idea conception to final execution.

Key qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Petroleum Engineering, and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in upstream oil & gas applications.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, excellent relationship building ability, and the ability to work with diverse teams are essential for this role.

Approximately 50% travel is required, but could be higher for periods of time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend client meetings and present to clients on our portfolio
  • Identify technical solutions and provide product or application training internally
  • Establish and maintain business relationships with current customers and prospective customers
  • Support the launch of new products and services into the market
  • Develop testing protocols for client specific testing needs
  • Expedites the resolution of customer problems and complaints related to product performance
  • Coordinates with R&D team and relates the product vision to them from the commercial team
  • Communicates with Sales Management on the progress of development from the Technical/R&D team
  • Identifies advantages and weaknesses of the organization's products & services relative to competitive offerings
  • Works with clients on trial opportunities and supports them in the field
  • Works with Technical team to identify opportunities for and contribute to writing technical papers for industry publication
  • Supplies sales team with oral or written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services
  • Keeps abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, and competitive activities within the industry
