Job Overview

Position Summary:
MS Technology, Inc. is in search of a meticulous and analytical Financial Project Coordinator to become a vital part of our team. In this capacity, you will oversee the creation of financial project documentation, manage billing and accounts payable functions, and deliver insightful financial assessments to aid in strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will demonstrate robust accounting expertise, exceptional attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.


Key Responsibilities:
This role encompasses duties in the following areas:

  • General Accounting
    • Support general ledger reporting
    • Engage in special projects as directed by management
    • Address audit inquiries and propose enhancements for processes
  • Timekeeping
    • Manage timesheet submissions
    • Ensure accurate allocation of hours in accordance with company and governmental standards
    • Communicate with staff to guarantee proper completion of timesheets
    • Assist employees in resolving timekeeping system issues
  • Project Administration
    • Establish and maintain projects within the company’s ERP system
    • Define project cost codes, billing rates, and other financial parameters
    • Collaborate closely with project controls to ensure timely and precise financial reporting at the project level
  • Accounts Payable
    • Process vendor invoices related to projects
    • Assess invoices for accuracy and verify against original purchasing documents
    • Ensure appropriate general ledger coding and obtain necessary approvals
    • Input invoices into the company ERP system
    • Communicate with vendors and subcontractors regarding accounts payable matters
  • Billing and Accounts Receivable
    • Generate customer invoices on a regular basis or as dictated by contractual obligations
    • Update billing spreadsheets in accordance with customer formatting requirements
    • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on overdue payments
    • Engage with customers to resolve billing and collection inquiries
  • Procurement
    • Assist in the processing of procurement documents, including purchase requisitions and orders, to support the Company’s quality initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree from an accredited institution; or one to two years of relevant experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Unanet or similar accounting software is advantageous.
  • Experience in government contracting environments is preferred.

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate in a secure environment and manage sensitive company information appropriately.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and SharePoint.
