Key Responsibilities

  • Assist principal investigators or project leaders in organizing and coordinating project tasks, reporting, communication with sponsors, and other responsibilities as designated by project management.
  • Collaborate with project personnel to create and uphold timelines, budget estimates, assist in identifying risks, and manage change control processes.
  • Provide ongoing support to the project by maintaining schedules and budgets, monitoring status, forecasting, and aiding in the preparation of monthly project performance reports.
  • Execute additional tasks as assigned by the project management mentor, principal investigator, or project leader.
  • Help project management staff in preparing for various project evaluations, including both internal and external status reviews.
  • Contribute to the organization's mission by aligning actions, priorities, and interactions with our core values of Impact, Integrity, Teamwork, Safety, and Service. Foster diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility by promoting a respectful workplace culture.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in project management, business, engineering, or a related field.
  • Two years of relevant experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with the capacity to work independently on complex tasks while supporting team members.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications.

Desired Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of project management best practices, including the ability to create project schedules, perform resource allocation, and maintain project baselines.
  • Proven success in interdisciplinary project environments and/or scientific collaborations involving participants from academia, national laboratories, and other scientific entities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to a varied audience.
