Position Summary:
Moody's Ratings is seeking a Vice President, Senior Credit Officer for our Funds and Asset Management Team. This pivotal role, based in New York, focuses on overseeing a portfolio of asset manager and fund ratings throughout North America. The successful candidate will deliver comprehensive credit analysis and research, contribute to the development of methodologies, and actively engage with the investment community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough and insightful credit evaluations. Generate high-quality, focused research on credit trends within the asset management and fund finance sectors, establishing yourself as a leading authority on your designated portfolio.
  • Ensure the precision of ratings. Perform detailed fundamental credit assessments and present findings at committees, ensuring that ratings are accurate and forward-looking.
  • Cultivate relationships with asset management firms. Regularly engage with investors, intermediaries, and media, articulating critical credit insights while demonstrating extensive industry knowledge.
  • Produce research publications: Create topical, insightful, and transparent reports on rated entities, covering sector-wide and cross-sector credit themes. Share thought leadership through various platforms.
  • Collaborate across the organization. Mentor junior analysts, enhancing their credit analysis skills.
Qualifications:
  • Strong academic credentials, ideally equivalent to an MBA or CFA.
  • Extensive experience in credit and risk assessment, with over 15 years of financial analysis expertise, preferably in funds, lending, or debt capital markets.
  • In-depth knowledge of the asset management and fund finance sectors, including key regulatory changes and industry dynamics.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong analytical skills and quantitative aptitude.
  • Highly organized, efficient, and capable of managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
