DSP Communications Engineer


We are seeking skilled DSP Communications Engineers at various experience levels. Candidates must be US Citizens and are required to be fully vaccinated with an FDA authorized and/or approved COVID-19 vaccine as a condition of employment. These positions are strictly onsite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of standard coding techniques, including BCH, Reed-Solomon, Reed-Muller, Golay Codes, Convolutional Codes, Turbo Codes, LDPCs, and Polar Codes.
  • Analyze communication systems and channels to select the most effective modulation and coding strategies to enhance performance.
  • Participate in the design, analysis, and architectural specification of DSP components for various radio architectures.
  • Define and conceptualize engineering solutions, deriving requirements and prototyping systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that designs meet system-level requirements.
  • Document designs and interfaces, facilitating discussions and reviews across teams.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of system components while identifying dependencies and potential risks in design.
  • Work alongside systems architects and hardware engineers to develop, implement, and validate robust radio signal processing algorithms.
  • Conduct testing, verification, and debugging of field test systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in FPGA and RTL design, including experience with hardware description languages such as Verilog, System Verilog, and VHDL.
  • Solid understanding of engineering principles applicable to wireless communications systems (RF, DSP, FPGA, software, digital/hardware, mechanical/packaging) and their interdependencies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in designing RF frontend architectures.
  • Knowledge of modulation, demodulation, forward error correction, randomization, and packet analysis.
  • Previous experience in designing and building wireless communications transmitters and receivers.
  • Familiarity with the design, optimization, and testing of communication signal processing algorithms.
  • Proficient in programming with MatLab and C/C++ for system test condition emulation.
  • Understanding of commercial standards such as 802.11, 4G/5G, etc.
  • Expertise in MatLab, Mathematica, Python, or other scripting languages and simulation tools.
  • Ability to create comprehensive engineering documentation, including system designs, interface specifications, and requirements.
