Position Overview

The role entails overseeing on-site construction activities, along with organizing, planning, and scheduling tasks to guarantee that projects are delivered punctually and within financial constraints.

This position will be based in a dynamic project environment.

Additional incentive compensation may be available for those in traveling roles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform site inspections to evaluate progress, quality, and adherence to safety standards.
  • Engage with clients, architects, engineers, inspectors, vendors, crews, subcontractors, and suppliers to facilitate timely project delivery.
  • Analyze contracts, drawings, and specifications to formulate on-site strategies and procedures.
  • Generate project documentation, including schedules, RFIs, jobsite controls, tracking reports, and daily logs.
  • Notify project management of potential challenges and assist in their resolution.
  • Coordinate and oversee subcontractor operations to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Implement quality assurance measures to confirm that work aligns with plans and specifications.
  • Conduct safety meetings and ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Participate in the recruitment, evaluation, and hiring of construction staff.
  • Guide and mentor direct reports to meet project goals.
  • Collaborate with project managers to maintain consistency in estimates and timelines.
  • Ensure that all necessary permits and temporary facilities are secured prior to the commencement of construction.
  • Supervise Specialty Superintendents and provide direction to Assistant and Specialty Superintendents.
Qualifications
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented setting.
  • Expertise in interpreting and analyzing construction documents.
  • Familiarity with general construction methodologies and practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to learn new field management and reporting software.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience is preferred.
  • Supervisory experience, ideally with a minimum of 1 year in field supervision.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Moderate physical activity, including sitting, walking, standing, bending, and lifting.
  • Occasional physical exertion, such as extended periods of standing, traversing uneven terrain, and climbing.
  • Good vision, hearing, and communication skills are essential.
  • Standard construction site environment with potential exposure to machinery, materials, and the necessity for protective equipment.
