Job Summary

As a Patient Access Representative at Jefferson Health, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth registration process for our patients. You will be responsible for greeting patients and visitors, identifying and responding to their needs, and communicating all urgencies to the clinical staff. Your attention to detail and excellent communication skills will be essential in accurately identifying and banding each patient during pre-registration. You will also be responsible for obtaining and/or verifying patient demographic, contact information, insurance, and eligibility information, as well as primary physician information during the bedside registration process. Your ability to work closely with clinical staff, interpreters, and other ancillary areas will be crucial in responding to the needs of our patients. Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to patients and visitors, responding to their needs and communicating all urgencies to the clinical staff
• Accurately identify and band each patient during pre-registration
• Obtain and/or verify patient demographic, contact information, insurance, and eligibility information, as well as primary physician information during the bedside registration process
• Work closely with clinical staff, interpreters, and other ancillary areas to respond to the needs of patients
• Participate in the up-front point of service collection process by collecting all applicable co-pays, co-insurance, and deductibles
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
• Continuously update and document patient information in the registration record
• Adhere to corporate and compliance guidelines
• Maintain qualitative and quantitative individual and team performance targets

Requirements

• High school degree or GED
• Associate degree preferred
• Previous customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare setting
• Patient registration experience, preferably in a healthcare setting
• Proficient in the use of computers and typing 35 wpm
• Knowledge of medical terminology and medical terminology used by insurance and managed care health plans
• Bilingual skills a plus
• Knowledge of EPIC system
