We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative to join our team at Jefferson Health. As a Patient Access Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth registration process for patients and visitors. Your excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will make you an ideal candidate for this position.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and visitors, responding to their needs and concerns in a professional and respectful manner.
- Accurately identify and band patients during pre-registration, ensuring accurate patient information is collected and verified.
- Obtain and/or verify patient demographic, contact information, insurance, and eligibility information, as well as primary physician information during the bedside registration process.
- Work closely with clinical staff, interpreters, and other ancillary areas to respond to patient needs and requests.
- Handle multiple calls and requests, responding timely and professionally.
- Perform other duties as needed, working across various areas of the facility to ensure seamless operations.
- High school degree or GED required; associate degree preferred.
- Previous customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Proficient in the use of computers and medical terminology.
- Ability to type 35 wpm and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual skills a plus.
This is a full-time position with rotating start times of 3p and 4pm, with every other weekend and holiday requirement. The work pattern is biweekly, with 40 hours weekly. The successful candidate will be required to complete 2 weeks of full-time day shift training upon hire.
