Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Representative to join our team at Jefferson Health. As a Patient Access Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth registration process for patients in our Emergency Room. Your primary responsibility will be to greet patients and visitors, identify and respond to their needs, and communicate all urgencies to the clinical staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Under the supervision of the Registration Supervisor, and Team Lead, you will work closely with clinical staff, interpreters, and other ancillary areas to respond to the needs of patients.
  • You will correctly identify and band each patient during Pre-Registration.
  • You will obtain and/or verify all patient demographic, contact information, insurance and eligibility information, as well as primary physician information during the bed-side registration process each visit.
  • You will obtain authorization/consent signatures.
  • You will work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple calls and requests, responding timely and professionally.
Requirements
  • High school degree or GED.
  • Previous customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Proficient in the use of computers.
  • Type 35 wpm.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and medical terminology used by insurance and managed care health plans.
Working Conditions

You will work in a high-volume, fast-paced Emergency/Trauma Center. You will be required to walk/stand up to 50% of the time.

Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson Health for employees working at Jefferson's clinical entities or at the University.
