Position Overview

We invite you to consider the role of Commercial Lead - Aerospace Material Solutions. In this pivotal position, you will spearhead the development of a robust business strategy tailored for the US market. Your primary objective will be to significantly enhance the revenue of Material Solutions, targeting growth from $5M to $100M over the next three years.

Your key responsibilities will encompass establishing and promoting the Material Solutions brand within the US market, with potential expansion into other markets as required. Building and nurturing long-term relationships with key stakeholders, including existing clients, prospective partners, and new customers, will be essential. Your clientele will span various sectors, including Aerospace Engine OEMs and industries such as automotive, oil & gas, and energy, particularly those that align with our engine product offerings. Additionally, you will engage with regulatory agencies in the US to secure funding for our innovative capabilities and facilities.

Main Responsibilities

  • Promote GKN Aerospace Material Solutions within the US
  • Collaborate with Programs to pursue aerospace opportunities
  • Analyze market trends and competition
  • Identify funding opportunities in the US
  • Achieve the annual sales objectives in the US
  • Support GKN's commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 and contribute to the circular economy
  • Explore non-aerospace business opportunities in the US that complement our engine product range
  • Lead initiatives to establish production capabilities in the US
  • Contribute to the development and revision of a comprehensive business plan in collaboration with Programs
  • Identify growth opportunities across various dimensions (new markets, partnerships, joint ventures, new products, etc.)
  • Develop sales forecasts and the annual sales strategy
  • Maintain commercial relationships with clients through collaboration with Programs
  • Generate and capture innovative business ideas
  • Oversee the bidding process for relevant products and markets in partnership with Programs
  • Perform additional duties as required

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, ideally in an Engineering-related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in sales, marketing, or commercial roles, or relevant technical experience in aerospace products
  • US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with GKN is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to lead meetings and maintain focus
  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
  • Ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely
  • Willingness to travel to company sites and customer locations as needed
