Commercial Truck Driver

RTX is seeking a skilled Commercial Truck Driver to join our team. As a Commercial Truck Driver, you will be responsible for driving, loading, and unloading vehicles, as well as utilizing material handling equipment to move and transport non-hazardous aerospace and defense materials.
Key Responsibilities:- Drive and operate various types of vehicles, including vans, pick-up trucks, and straight trucks.
- Load and unload materials, using dollies, fork-lifts, chains, straps, and other material handling equipment as required.
- Coordinate with other personnel, including truck drivers, expeditors, and management, to ensure efficient material movement and customer satisfaction.
- Perform incidental expediting duties to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Regularly lift 25 pounds and push, pull pallet jacks and other material handling devices with higher weight capacity.
- Valid Class A driver's license.
- Experience with Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.
- U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency in operating powered industrial trucks (PIT), including forklifts, manual pallet jacks, electrical pallet jacks, etc.
- Experience in collaborating closely with teammates and responding to directives from logistics dispatchers or management to expedite or shift priorities.
- Ability to stand, sit, or walk for prolonged periods of time.
- Experience or demonstrated capability to lift and carry 25 pounds independently in a work setting.
- Ability to obtain certification for safe operation of material handling equipment, including, but not limited to, fork lifts and electric pallet jacks.
- Experiential knowledge of securing loads within vehicles using chains, straps, bars, and other material handling equipment.
- Commitment to safety and all company safety rules and regulations.
