Job Title: Property Management Intern

Harbor Group Management Company is a leading real estate investment and property management firm seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Property Management Intern to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Property Management Intern will assist in the daily operations of our property management team, gaining valuable experience in the industry. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on various projects, including leasing, marketing, and customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in leasing apartments, maintaining lists of available apartments, and responding to telephone inquiries
  • Qualify prospects, show apartments, and prepare all move-in paperwork
  • Participate in follow-up with prospective residents, including telephone calls and follow-up cards
  • Assist with inspecting apartments with new residents, filling out move-in inspection forms, and reviewing leasing paperwork
  • Obtain knowledge in the management of renewals, tracking lease expirations, and recording notices to vacate
  • Collect and accurately process application fees, security deposits, rents, and other fees
  • Comply with all Fair Housing regulations, Tax Compliance regulations, and other laws as they relate to property-specific guidelines and occupancy standards

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a 4-year accredited Property Management/Real Estate/Marketing or similar program
  • Available for a 10-week internship commitment from June to August
  • Willing to travel for both the Kick-Off and Capstone events
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail, follow-up, and overseeing projects through completion
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint is a plus
  • Relevant experience, including internships, in real estate is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written
