Position Overview:

This role operates under the general oversight of the Area Operations Manager, who outlines objectives and allocates resources; grants significant authority to set priorities, create schedules, and oversee individual locations; organizes project work plans; and formulates strategies and techniques to address work and response program needs.

This is a mandatory position.

To qualify, candidates must satisfy the education and/or specialized experience criteria outlined below.

Experience encompasses both paid and unpaid roles, including volunteer work conducted through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

Credit will be given for all qualifying experience, including volunteer work.

Applicants' resumes must clearly detail their relevant experience; if qualifying through education, transcripts will be required as part of the application process.

Specialized Experience for GS-11: One year of specialized experience that involves management and/or execution of budgetary and technical responsibilities in recreation management and/or natural resource management, flood risk management, and facility maintenance or related tasks that equipped the individual to perform the duties of the position.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).


OR Education:
Ph.D.

or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education (minimum of 54 graduate-level semester hours) leading to such a degree in a field that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as accounting, business, economics, finance, political science, or statistics.

OR Combination of Education and Experience:

A combination of education and experience may be utilized to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

(To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12.

Then, divide your semester hours of graduate-level education beyond the second year (total graduate-level semester hours minus 36) by 18.

The sum of the two percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.).
