Role Overview:

As an Aviation Security Screening Specialist, you will play a crucial role in delivering top-notch, customer-centric security services, ensuring safe and enjoyable travel experiences for all passengers and visitors at our airport.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing consistent security protocols to verify passengers and their belongings prior to boarding.
  • Controlling access to sensitive security areas and conducting thorough searches to identify prohibited items.
  • Efficiently managing passenger flow through security checkpoints.
  • Exhibiting strong communication skills and sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Providing exceptional customer service while maintaining high standards of personal grooming.

Essential Skills:

  • Eligibility for an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
  • Successful completion of the Aviation Accreditation Test.
  • Experience in a regulated security environment.
  • Ability to interact with passengers in a friendly and composed manner.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the screening of items using X-ray technology.
  • Conducting security checks with body scanners and metal detection equipment.
  • Performing thorough searches of individuals and their belongings.
  • Applying knowledge of hazardous materials within the transport security framework.
  • Managing access to secure areas and maintaining a sterile environment.

About You:

You should possess:

  • Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (AVI20118) OR
  • Current Screening Officer with Certificate II in Security Operations.
  • Current Dangerous Goods Qualification.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
