Through innovation in research and development, technology advancements, and solution engineering, our professionals play crucial roles in connecting consumers with the future's products and platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Developing a comprehensive cloud-native, web-scale platform and the associated tools that will be utilized by engineering teams across multiple business units within DISH.
  • Fostering a customer-focused, highly personalized evolution of our platform.
  • Advancing our initiatives to establish a robust hybrid cloud infrastructure.
  • Designing and implementing a service catalog, software templates, and a developer portal to facilitate self-service.
  • Enabling essential platform services for our organization, including AWS, Kubernetes, service discovery, DNS, IPAM, load balancing, etc.
  • Maintaining and optimizing a cloud platform that supports large, complex systems for performance, security, reliability, and scalability.
  • Managing advanced AWS services such as SSO, Organization, Service Catalog, Step Functions, Account Factory, and Control Tower - Landing Zone.
  • Innovating automation capabilities within the cloud platform and developing new features based on application patterns for cloud hosting.
  • Supporting application development, operations, testing, and software delivery in an agile environment, assisting infrastructure teams in embracing the principles of being 'cloud native.'
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Automating, maintaining, and managing AWS cloud-based production systems to ensure their availability, performance, scalability, and security.
  • Overseeing build, release, and configuration management of production systems.
  • Conducting pre-production acceptance testing to ensure the quality of our products and services.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues across platform and application domains.
  • Proposing architectural enhancements and recommending process improvements.
  • Advocating for cloud-native, hybrid cloud, and continuous deployment methodologies.
  • Assessing new technology options and vendor products.
  • Ensuring critical system security through the implementation of top-tier cloud security solutions.
Qualifications and Skills

Education and Experience:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology; a Master's degree is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Over 10 years of professional experience in enterprise development.
  • At least 4 years of experience utilizing a wide range of AWS technologies (e.g., EKS, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, SQS, Lambda, CloudTrail, Systems Manager, KMS, Kinesis Streams) to develop and maintain AWS-based cloud solutions, with a focus on the Well-Architected Framework.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Practical design and coding experience with EKS, Rancher, Docker, Helm, Istio, ELK, Prometheus, Terraform, and Python.
  • Strong experience in building, troubleshooting, and managing Kubernetes environments.
  • Preferred skills in Argo, GitLab, Vault, Consul, Ansible, API Gateway, Kafka, and DevOps concepts.
  • Experience as a DevOps Engineer in a 24/7 operational Amazon AWS environment, including automation experience with configuration management tools and CI/CD process setup and support (Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, GitLab, etc.).
  • Industry certifications in Kubernetes (CKA and/or CKAD), DevOps, and Cloud Platforms are highly desirable.
  • Experience in building and managing hybrid cloud platforms that support large, highly available enterprise-grade applications.
  • Proficient scripting skills, including AWS Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and strong automation skills (e.g., Python).
  • Knowledge of Linux/Ubuntu system administration.
  • Familiarity with system monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, New Relic, Pager Duty).
  • Understanding of network topologies and common network protocols (DNS, HTTP(S), SSH, FTP, SMTP).
Compensation and Benefits

Compensation ranges from $116,875.00 to $137,500.00 per year.
