Job Title: Executive Director, Ohio

Facing History & Ourselves is seeking an experienced and dynamic Executive Director to lead our efforts to increase our presence and philanthropic support in Ohio and open new markets in surrounding states.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to achieve revenue goals and expand the organization's presence in Ohio.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, education leaders, and community partners.
  • Collaborate with the Ohio Program Director to develop and implement program growth and delivery goals.
  • Supervise the Director of Development and matrix manage regional employees.
  • Work with the regional advisory board to maintain a strong regional culture.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in fundraising and senior leadership roles.
  • Deep knowledge of the Ohio educational policy and school district landscapes.
  • Proven track record of building reputation and extending awareness of a nonprofit across key sectors.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to create, maintain, and strengthen relationships with philanthropic partners.
  • Direct supervision experience, particularly in project management and oversight.
  • Experience leading and growing teams in a hybrid or remote work community.
  • Technology proficiency, especially with communication and fundraising tools.
