Position Overview

Role Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Behavioral Health Director, the Licensed Therapist for Families and Individuals offers essential behavioral health services to NEON clients facing mental health challenges and substance use disorders. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments and gathering patient histories.
  • Establishing diagnoses and formulating individualized treatment plans.
  • Delivering clinical counseling, psychosocial support, and social psychotherapy.
  • Implementing Screening, Brief Intervention, Referral, and Treatment (SBIRT) protocols.
  • Providing Substance Abuse Therapy and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT).

Educational Requirements

  • A Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of post-graduate fieldwork and supervised practice as mandated for State licensure.

Essential Qualifications

  • Possession of one of the following licenses: State of Ohio Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor Supervisor (LPCC-S), Licensed Social Worker (LSW), or Licensed Independent Social Worker-Supervisor (LISW).
  • Current State of Ohio Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDCIII) or Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC).
  • A minimum of two years of experience in counseling, psychotherapy, and case management with children, adolescents, and families.
  • At least two years of experience addressing substance abuse issues is preferred.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse populations, including interdisciplinary teams.

Technical Proficiencies

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
  • Willingness to learn and become proficient in NextGen software.
