Position Overview:

As an Inventory Management Specialist, you will report directly to the Supervisor I of Onsite Services, collaborating with Avantor's extensive Lab and Production Services team, which consists of over 1,500 skilled professionals both on-site and off-site. Your primary responsibility will be to execute tailored, mission-driven laboratory tasks and research protocols that facilitate the advancement of scientific endeavors.

Compensation Package:

Sign-On Bonus: $2,000.00

Compensation: $22.28 per hour plus a 15% shift differential, totaling $25.62 per hour.

Qualifications:

· Education: High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.

· Experience: A minimum of 2 years in material handling, inventory replenishment, or customer service is required. Familiarity with spill containment training, IATA, DOT, IMDG, and OSHA Right to Know is advantageous. Knowledge of scientific products and services is a plus.

· Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, is essential.

  • Solid understanding of shipping, inventory, or purchasing processes.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a professional demeanor.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and adherence to established protocols.
  • Ability to self-manage, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for interaction with customers and internal teams.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

  • Manage inventory operations, ensuring accurate control and processing of requests for inventory movement.
  • Conduct cycle counts, monitor inventory levels, and report on slow-moving or obsolete stock.
  • Provide exemplary customer service and maintain communication regarding inventory management.
  • Perform purchasing tasks, including back order reporting and managing quotes.
  • Oversee shipping coordination, including handling customer materials and operating basic warehouse equipment.
  • Prepare shipping documentation for hazardous materials and ensure compliance with packaging requirements.
  • Interface with customer contacts, including purchasing and facility directors.
  • Utilize various computer systems for inventory management and reporting.
  • Strive to meet safety, performance, and quality objectives.
  • Develop programs to enhance service efficiency.
  • Document and manage changes in operational procedures.
  • Deliver inbound packages to customer contacts as needed.
  • Update and maintain Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
