As an Inventory Management Specialist, you will report to the Supervisor I of Onsite Services and collaborate closely with Avantor's Lab and Production Services team, which comprises over 1,500 skilled professionals both on-site and off-site. Compensation Package:
$2,000 Sign-On Bonus.

Schedule:
3rd Shift/ Sun - Thur 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Hourly Compensation:
$22.28/hr. plus a 15% shift differential ($3.34/hr.) totaling $25.62/hr.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in material handling/inventory replenishment or customer service. Familiarity with spill containment training, IATA, DOT, IMDG, and OSHA Right to Know is advantageous. Experience in cross-referencing and inside sales, along with knowledge of scientific products and services, is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:
Compliance with all company and customer requirements for background checks, health and safety regulations, and security clearances. Solid understanding and experience in shipping, inventory, or purchasing. Exceptional customer service skills with a professional demeanor. Strong commitment to safety, quality, and adherence to protocols, policies, and procedures. Ability to self-manage, self-motivate, and think proactively. Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Effective communication skills with both customers and internal stakeholders. Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Inventory Management Specialist, you will:

  • Oversee inventory management tasks, including consumables, chemicals, and samples, ensuring accurate inventory control and processing requests for inventory movement.
  • Conduct cycle counts, yearly physical inventories, and monitor slow-moving and obsolete inventory.
  • Provide daily customer service functions and maintain communication regarding inventory management.
  • Handle purchasing functions such as back order reporting, expediting, managing quotes, and resolving invoicing issues.
  • Manage customer service functions including order entry, reporting, and cost savings tracking.
  • Coordinate shipping activities, including preparing shipping documentation and handling hazardous materials.
  • Interface with customer contacts, purchasing directors, facility directors, and plant managers.
  • Utilize Avantor and customer-specific computer systems in fulfilling job duties.

Performance Goals:
Meet safety, performance, and quality objectives. Develop programs for enhanced service efficiencies. Collaborate with Avantor Sales Force and manufacturer representatives. Document change management and maintain Standard Operating Procedures.
