Job Summary:

The Psychologist II will work closely with our pediatric primary care team to provide interventions, referrals, and follow-up for families with patients ages 0-5. You will build strong relationships with families and providers to increase the efficiency of the medical system and support team-based comprehensive care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct office visits and home visits to provide interventions and referrals for families with patients ages 0-5.
  • Work closely with pediatric providers to coordinate care and provide counseling and coaching to families.
  • Provide referrals and tracking follow-up to help families make connections to key resources within the community.
  • Conduct ongoing system of checkups to assess child development and family factors.
  • Help parents manage common behavioral concerns related to early learning, fussiness, sleep, feeding, discipline, toilet training, etc.
  • Create 'teachable moments' to educate parents about child development and behavior.
  • Respond to developmental questions between visits via phone, text, or email.
  • Coordinate early learning activities and parent/caregiver education groups.
  • Provide Healthy Steps care coordination services to patients and their families.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment management team and attend staff and team meetings.
Requirements:
  • Doctoral degree from an APA-accredited clinical or school psychology program.
  • Completion of an APA-accredited internship and current NY State license and registration.
  • At least 2 years' post-doctoral clinical experience with family, parenting, and child development issues.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with underserved populations in a community setting.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to prevention-based and early intervention programming.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data for program management, evaluation, and reporting purposes.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to speak, read, and write in Spanish or Chinese.
