Job Summary

The City of New York seeks a highly skilled Child Protective Specialist Supervisor to lead a team of child protective specialists in investigating reports of alleged child abuse and neglect. The successful candidate will have a strong background in social work, psychology, or a related field, and at least 18 months of child protective casework experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise a team of child protective specialists and provide guidance on case practice requirements
  • Monitor subordinates' compliance with required face-to-face contacts and visits
  • Ensure timely completion of assessments and service plans
  • Provide ongoing training and support to staff
  • Manage workload and facilitate workflow with internal and external units
Requirements
  • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, including or supplemented by 24 semester credits in one or a combination of the following fields: social work, psychology, sociology, human services, criminal justice, education (including early childhood), nursing or cultural anthropology
  • At least 18 months of child protective casework experience
