Child Life Specialist

Pride Health is seeking a skilled Child Life Specialist to join our team in Brooklyn. As a Child Life Specialist, you will work with children and families to provide support and guidance in times of need.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct trauma-informed assessments to identify children's needs and develop individualized plans for support.
- Coordinate referrals for mental health, childcare, and other services to ensure comprehensive care.
- Attend meetings and trainings to stay up-to-date on best practices in child life and trauma-informed care.
- Provide crisis intervention and support to families in childcare efforts.
- Document progress and treatment plans in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prepare children and families for medical and mental health procedures, implementing behavioral intervention as needed.
- Support children through therapeutic play and offer individual and family counseling to assist families dealing with grief/loss and other mental health issues.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field.
- Active licensure as an LMSW, LMHC, or LMFT in New York.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Experience working with mental illness, substance use, and co-occurring disorders.
- Experience in respite, residential, or crisis programs.
- Strong communication and computer skills, including Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
- Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team and document clinical notes in an EHR database.
