Northwell Health is seeking a highly skilled Child Life Specialist to join our team. As a Child Life Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing emotional support and promoting the psychosocial well-being of children and their families in a hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement psychosocial programs to foster emotional, developmental, intellectual, and physical growth of children.
- Provide planned, routine psychosocial care to children and families to reduce stress and increase adaptive coping.
- Use developmentally appropriate play experiences to assess and meet the child's psychosocial needs.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized plans of care.
- Provide emotional support and stress reduction techniques to children and families.
- Bachelor's degree in Child Life, Child Development, Psychology, Sociology, or related field.
- Completion of a Child Life internship with a minimum of 600 hours.
- Child Life Certification required within 12 months of hire.
