Resettlement Programs Manager

PurposeThe Resettlement Programs Supervisor plays a critical role in our organization, overseeing the initial resettlement services for refugees and asylum seekers. This includes supervising a team of case managers and employment specialists, ensuring quality control, and collaborating with local partners to provide timely and effective services.
Responsibilities- Welcome and orient refugees to their new community, providing core resettlement services and ongoing case management.
- Hire, onboard, train, and supervise case management and employment staff.
- Oversee the provision of cultural orientation and ensure clients are connected to in-house support and external service providers.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local resettlement partners, including Departments of Social Services, public school systems, employers, health departments, and healthcare providers.
- Support case management and employment staff to remove refugee barriers to employment and promote family self-sufficiency.
- Ensure compliance with R&P, MG, UHP, and PC contract requirements through regular case file review and training.
- Stay up-to-date on program changes and coordinate regular trainings for staff.
- Partner with volunteer specialists to organize volunteer assistance and ensure volunteer availability and suitability.
- Advocate on behalf of refugees and refugee-serving voluntary agencies.
- Represent the program at meetings and speaking engagements relevant to the position.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in refugee resettlement required.
- At least 2 years' experience mentoring and training staff is required.
- Familiarity with local services available in Wilmington, NC preferred but not required.
- Fluency in a refugee language preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment required.
- Excellent leadership skills and strong written and verbal communication skills required.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and willingness to support CWS' Platform on Racial Justice as a CWS employee required.
- Computer literate, with strong proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, and Access) and internet applications required.
