Program Manager II Position

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join the State of North Carolina as a Program Manager II. As a key member of the Special Operations and Intelligence Unit, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and directing various security policies, procedures, and functions to ensure consistency and uniformity in gathering intelligence through investigations and technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement security policies and procedures to ensure effective intelligence gathering and analysis.
- Communicate with community corrections and institutions to stay abreast of probation and prison issues, policies, and technology.
- Apply all personnel policies and procedures to include recruitment, benefits, NCVIP, disciplinary actions, grievances, investigations, and trainings.
- Conduct audits within the section, document results, and provide feedback to appropriate staff and director.
- Assist in fiscal management of the section, including lease contract negotiations, equipment control, and policies and procedures related to time reporting.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of prison and/or community supervision operations and policies and procedures.
- Experience with judicial and legal system of NC and law enforcement practices.
- Working knowledge of various security systems and security hardware; extensive knowledge of day-to-day prison operations, community supervision strategies, and appropriate security practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in establishing effective working relationships with staff, management, allied agencies, and the general public.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment in dealing with people and in responding to the needs and demands of the offender population and the general public, which may be in conflict.
- Demonstrated knowledge of field operations.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five (5) years of experience in the program area of assignment, including two years of supervisory program experience (OR) an equivalent combination of training and experience.
